The Statue

                        The statue represents the ultimate role of a firefighter; that of saving lives. 

                        The firefighter is dressed in protective clothing representative of the pre 1980 era.

                        Keeping with the historical character of Old Strathcona.  

                        The Statue is being created by Danek Mozdzenski, a local sculptor.  Danek's work is

                        shown throughout Alberta. Edmontonians will best recognize his work, as he created

                        the Ezio Farone Statue and the Francis Winspear Bust.

The Stats

                        The statue will be approximately 5 meters (16 feet) tall and weigh one ton.

                        The Firefighter will be approximately 2 meters (6 feet) tall and weigh 900 lbs.

                        The little girl will be 1 meters (3 feet) tall and weigh 200 lbs.

                        The statue will be cast in bronze.
